I have been a set
challenge to create a promotional package for a horror film, which consists of
a; Trailer, Film poster and magazine cover. In order for the following pieces
to look professional they have to have a symbolic link, sharing a common feel
and look to make it more effective to promote.
The reason why we have chosen the genre of
horror is that we have a fascination of the effect that this genre has on their
target audience; For instance the fear that it gives them during and after watching a horror film. We feel that no other film genre has this much affect on the audience. We also share a love of the genre.
To further appeal
to the target audience we have done research into existing media text which
will allow us to familiar with the conventions of the genre and to inspire us
to be original with our piece so that it can stand out from other trailers.
